Enjoy this recap video of our first annual ‘Fortress Judgeride’!

Riders were given 1 run per round, with each corner being judged separately by 3 different judges along the hill. Top 50% of scores made it through to the next round, similar to street league heats but with only one chance. All styles are judged on the same 10 point scale, allowing different styles to compete in the same event. Each style had it’s own set of criteria, allowing riders to skate however they like with judges adjusting accordingly. Top 8 riders are entered to compete in a Top 8 Shootout at a more technical hill at a later date.

We had a great time with you all on one of our favorite hills! Stay tuned for more events & follow NCDH @northcarolinadownhill and

Les Robertson

Born in Vancouver, Les has been backpacking and adventuring around the globe most of his life. Skateboarding made it easier to get around, eventually leading to a long trek skate adventure across Kenya. With a new appreciation for skateboards and some good connections, Les dropped everything to make skateboarding his life and, as they say, it's all been downhill since. Now Editor at Skate[Slate] and one of the owners of Flatspot Longboards, Les spends the rest of his time raising his first kid, plugged into the skate-web, and skating with Coast Longboarding.
